I Love My Park Day

I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event, organized by Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) and local Friends groups, to celebrate and enhance New York’s parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs.

May 6, 2017 - This annual event is a volunteer opportunity for people of all ages to give back to our beloved Preserve.

Registration is open! Select the Rockefeller State Park Preserve, under the Hudson Valley tab.

Project: We need volunteers to help liberate native trees from invasive vines at Rockwood Hall this year; an Olmsted designed landscape with views of the Hudson River. Some equipment will be available, but we request volunteers come prepared with handsaws, loppers, and appropriate clothing such as pants and long sleeves. Some of the work areas may be wet, so bring waterproof boots. Appropriate for 13 and up. Please bring garden gloves, appropriate clothing such as waterproof boots, pants, long sleeves and gloves. Some tools will be available. If able, please bring handsaws and loppers.

Time & Place: 9:30am-12:30pm, rain or shine. Meet at the Rockwood Hall Parking Lot.

Parking: Park at the Rockwood Hall parking lot, overflow can park in the Phelps Hospital lots (free).
