ANNOUNCING THE FIRST ANNUAL "HULDA'S NIGHT" AT THE ROCKEFELLER STATE PARK PRESERVE!
Thursday, October 24th, 2019
In his "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" Washington Irving said that Sleepy Hollow was bewitched by a "high German doctor." It is believed that Irving was referring to "Hulda the witch", a healer who had emigrated from Bohemia and who lived in what is today the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. If you have ever hiked the Witch's Spring Trail, then you have walked by what was Hulda's home.
Come and join us as we pay homage to Hulda in the Rockefeller Preserve's first annual Hulda's Night.
The evening will begin at the home of our Preserve's Manager (25 Sleepy Hollow Road). The first group will depart at 6:00pm (sharp) and will hike over to Witch's Spring Trail where they will hear Hulda tell her tale as well as other Preserve lore. All are invited to warm up by a fire and complimentary hot drinks and snacks at the end of the hike.
PLEASE NOTE: We must limit numbers so registration is required for this event (see Eventbrite link below). There will be two groups. The First Group departs at 6:00pm the second departs at 7:00pm (sharp). The event is free, but tickets are limited. Tickets will be available October 1, 2019. Limit 4. Also, PLEASE if you do need to cancel please login to Eventbrite and cancel your tickets so others who are wait-listed will be notified. Thanks!
NOTE: While this is not intended to be a scary event, it is a night event and there is a witch involved, so we suggest 8+ for children for this event. Please bring flashlights with you. Rain date: Monday October 28th
