Parking: Rockefeller State Park Preserve main entrance
125 Phelps Way (Rte. 117), Pleasantville, NY.
Start: 9am at Swan Lake
Awards: Top three male and female, plus age groups.
Team Competition: Pretty simple. Lowest total time wins, and so forth 3 deep in the 4 team categories. Teams of two in all male, all female, coed and coed century (both people must have a total age of 100 or more).
Baggage: There is no official bag drop. Weβre a homey style race so a lot of people leave their jackets/extra layers with their families/friends or by the side of the trail. Seems to work pretty well. Please NO VALUABLES β stash those in your locked car or carry them with you.
The race start and finish is a short walk from the parking lot, youβll see signs and can follow the crowd.
Refreshments, vendors, and awards will be by Swan Lake. We will post race results here and of Facebook as soon as they are available.
Coming from out of town? Start your day with the race and then stick around for the all our area has to offer. October is Sleepy Hollow's premier month! Horsemen's Hollow, The Old Dutch Church and Sleepy Hollow Cemetery to name just a few attractions.
Thank you to Westchester Road Runner for their support.
FAQs
Why run the 5K? The Preserve is a world class running destination, that you can run in, for free, 365 days a year. Twice a year (Rockyβs 5K in October and the Rockwood Ramble 10K in June), we host events to give runners a very easy way to actively participate in supporting the Preserve. ALL PROCEEDS GO TOWARDS CARRIAGE ROAD MAINTENANCE. Keeping the trails open, safe and well maintained is a never ending job, your entry fee makes a difference!
We do not issue refunds. You can defer to 2024 or transfer to another runner up to one week prior to the race.
We love babies and pets, but they'll have to sit this one out - no jogging strollers or dogs. But we encourage them to spectate and cheer everyone on.
FRSPP reserves the right to change the details of the event, including delaying, cancelling or suspending the race due to inclement weather or other potential safety risks. Participants must retire from the race if ordered to do so by event officials, medical staff or any governmental authority, including firefighters and police officers.
